During Christmas break, I decided to take a two-week vacation and go on a short trip. At first, I wanted to go to Melbourne, a city I had visited before and loved. However, I thought it was time to explore a new place, so Tasmania quickly became my second choice. It was the perfect timing for several reasons, and I particularly fell in love with Hobart, such a beautiful place!
Knowing that I couldn’t properly explore any city without a car, I rented one for five days. I carefully planned my trip to make the most of the short time I had. And I succeeded! One of the must-visit locations was Mount Wellington. I arrived there in the evening, just before sunset. I took some photos, but it was incredibly cold! I stayed there until it got dark. I even woke up at 4 am the next morning to see the sunrise, but unfortunately, there were a lot of clouds. Nevertheless, it was still a great experience to wake up and see Hobart and the surroundings from a height of 1,271 meters above sea level.
Looking back, there are two things I would do differently next time. First, I would visit in winter. Second, I would plan for at least two weeks and drive from Hobart to the north. I know it would require a lot of planning, but I am confident that one day I’ll make it happen.
The whole trip was an incredible journey, but one place stood out for me: Mt Field National Park. It was an incredibly peaceful and serene place, just what I needed at the time. There was no cell reception, not many people around; it felt like it was just me and the trees. No wonder I am so in love with nature! I explored the park and reached the waterfalls, another breathtaking sight. I was lucky that the water flow was good enough to capture some beautiful photos.
I spent a few hours there, walking and immersing myself in nature’s beauty and the soothing sound of silence. I wish I had more time to explore other areas of the vast park. But until next time, I want to share some photos I took with my iPhone. They were taken at different locations and convey different moods. They are in no particular order. Enjoy them and keep smiling! 🙂
