It was Christmas break and I had taken 2 weeks off and wanted to go away for a few days. My first choice was to go to Melbourne, I had been there for a few times and I love it, but then i thought it is time to explore a different city, Tasmania came second on the list straight away! It was perfect timing for a few reasons, I loved Hobart! what a beautiful place to be!
Knowing that I could never explore any city properly without a car, I went ahead and hired a car for five days and Tried to schedule my trip so I can explore as many places in the short period as possible. And I did! Mount Wellington was on the must visit locations! Got there in the evening just before sunset, took some shots, but I was FREEZING my b*** off! I stayed there until it was dark. I even woke up at 4am in the morning to catch the sunrise but I didn’t have much luck as there were a lot of clouds! but nonetheless it was still nice to wake up and see Hobart and surroundings from 1,271 m above sea level. Two things I would do differently next time, first, is to go in winter! and second, go for at least two weeks and drive from Hobart towards the north. I know it will require a lot planning but I am sure it will happen one day..
The whole trip was such a journey but one place stood out for me and was an incredible journey by itself, Mt Field National Park. What an incredible peaceful place! so serene and was exactly what I needed at the time, no reception, not many people, felt like it was just myself and the trees. No wonder why I am in love with nature! then got to the waterfalls, another incredible scenery and I was lucky the water flow was good enough for some snaps.
I spent a few hours there, walking and enjoying nature and the sound of silence. Wish I had more time to explore more areas of this massive park, until next time, here are some of the photos I took with my iPhone, different locations and different moods (in no particular order). Enjoy and keep smiling! 🙂
